Help! I'm Away from my Personal Trainer and I'm Regressing

Away From Your Personal Trainer?

Are you anticipating time away from your personal trainer for vacation, up tick in work and familial obligations, or even a surgery.

While I do believe professional personal training and coaching is the most effective mode for ensuring proper form and progression to insure RESULTS, I do know part of life means interruptions.

Interruptions do not have to mean a complete cease of all movement, skill, and progression.

In fact, I have actually seen some of my clients who are on the edge of overtraining benefit from a break from traditional training.

Why? Well, our bodies do need the opportunity to absorb and grow stranger- sometimes, we are doing all the things the best we can do only to find we plateau. This is when our training is out doing our reverie and we just can't dig out of the hole enough to train well enough for an adaptation or growth. Hence, plateau or even worse, overtraining syndrome.

So, take your break without guilt but also without stopping completely.

This time should be about all the specific things you can do to keep your mobility and maintain your strength in a different manner- with bands!

Bands are seriously the best way to hypertrophy or demand muscle work to that lactate response.

Trust me. If you need to take a break- don't use the excuse of I can't do it- you CAN. in fact, you can come back even stronger. And what better opportunity to give your body some catalysts for change!

Have you ever run  or walked consistently for weeks or even months? After stringing together some consistent weeks, you don’t feel as challenged.

But on the other hand, you convince yourself a few weeks, months off won't matter—-

However, when you stay with OTHER exercises-like bands or pool running- during your time away. HERE for my pool running plan.  Or  BANDS ROUTINE HERE

AND, you come back to running or walking after some time off and your body responds STRONGER!!! This is what we want while you are away.

We want challenges but in a healthy, different way. And of course you know I’m going to plug my profession: this is the magic of personal training- In fact, if your personal trainer gives you the same exercises and routine every week- I would go somewhere else!
